Andrew Jackson is a Juno Award winning trombonist and composer based in Halifax, Nova Scotia. His versatility and unique sound have made him one of the Maritimes first-call players. He is an artist constantly exploring new sounds and not afraid to blend genres. Jackson keeps a busy playing schedule with many of the premiere artists in the region, spanning a variety of styles; From pop and reggae (Roxy & The Underground Soul Sound,  Bethany, Aquakultre Andru Branch & Halfway Tree) , to jazz (Jackson/Wilson Duo, Six Star Revue, North End Brass Band,) to experimental improvisation (Upstream Ensemble, SuddenlyListen, Many World Ensemble, former collaborator of Jerry Granelli).

In 2022, Andrew was selected as a member of the very first Canadian Jazz Orchestra. In 2025, Symphony Nova Scotia premiered one of his arrangements at the opening of their season Jah’Mila’s Reggae Roots, followed by two orchestral arrangements for Aquakultre in 2026. In 2023, Andrew received his first Juno Award, as a recording artist for “That Tall Distance” by David Myles, which received instrumental album of the year. Andrew is a multiple time Music Nova Scotia award winner, including accolades such as "Musician of the Year"and "Jazz Recording of The Year" amongst others.

Starting in 2015, Andrew has also been the creator and host of "The Outer Edge" on CKDU 88.1FM, which received the 2021 Radio Program of the Year at the Music Nova Scotia Awards.
